Rio was born on April 22, 2000 at 9:20 AM.  He was foaled in our foaling stall, on the internet for all to see.  He is quite a popular guy already in his short life!   Rio is sired by our Shire stallion Earnshaw Ideal, and his dam is our Arab, Minuetta (aka Etti).  Rio is black, with 4 perfect white socks and a blaze, and is built beautifully for dressage or jumping.  He has been imprinted, and will be handled daily until he leaves home. (By us and our little guy, Thomas!).  He is very sweet and already has shown us his determination and intelligence.  He will be registered in the Shire-Sporthorse registry.

Rio is for sale and will be ready to go at weaning time.  It may be hard to sell him though, as we are all already getting pretty attached! This is just about the friendliest and most outgoing baby we have had here!  He is such a doll!  He is bold and smart, and not at all spooky.  He will make someone a fine mount as a competitive horse.  For more details on the sale of Rio, check out our sale page.

Above Pictures:  Rio and Thomas.  Thomas is 23 months, Rio is 2 hours old.
Note:  Black foals are born a mousey-grey color, and get darker as they grow adult hair.
