Black Forest Ideal Lad
(Laddie)

Laddie at 19 months.  His feather is shaved off as he was inspected (and approved!) by the AWS for breedings.  It's growing back.

Laddie, who was named after his grandsire,  the immortal Grayingham Lucky Lad,  was born on June 17th, 2000 at 2:56 AM.  He was foaled on the internet for all to see.  There had been such great anticipation of his birth, people from all over the world were waiting for his arrival.  He is quite a popular guy already in his short life!   Laddie is sired by our champion, imported Shire  stallion Earnshaw Ideal, and his dam is our exceptional big grey mare, Gracie.   He is black, with 3 even white socks and a blaze, and is built like a champion shire should be built.    He has already shown a sensible and steady attitude toward the new world around him. This is a BIG, strong, well built colt that will take someone to the top of the shire horse world.

Note:  Black foals are born a mousey-grey color, and get darker as they grow adult hair.  Photos at 4 days.

Laddie is WELL socialized!
