Gracie
(Gladwin Lucky Grey Lady)

Lots of pictures here, please be patient

July, 2003 - NEWS FLASH:  Gracie and our drum horse stallion, Galway Warrior were both featured horses at the 2003 "Breyer Fest", and both had limited edition models made of them.  For pictures and info on the fun we had at Breyerfest, see the Events page on our gypsy horse web site.

This aristocratic light grey mare has loads of presence.  Gracie is a 1991, pueb98.jpg (15429 bytes) Canadian bred, English and American registered Shire mare.   She stands 18 honest hands high, 1900+lbs.  Gracie is by Grayingham Lucky Lad (who was immortalized a few years ago by being the model for the BreyerŽ Animal's 1993 Breyerfest statue).  Her dam is Gentle Giant Snowflower by Ox Kill King.  Gracie is broke to ride and drive, and is very good at both.
Every time we have shown Gracie in a  shire show she has taken 1st place in each of her classes, some of them having substantial competition.   One of her first-places was the in first "shire under saddle" class to be held at the National Shire show in 1997.   Gracie and Jeff competed with 9 other riders, and took home the "Forge Run Farm perpetual trophy".   We spent our free time between classes telling people "No, she isn't for sale".

We have never felt so blessed to own a horse as we do this mare.  She is a pleasure to be around, and is absolutely stunning in every way.  This is what Shires are supposed to be like!  This mare is phenomenal!

Gracie is donating embryos for the 2004 season, and these embryo foals, by she and our stallion Ideal and other stallions will possibly be for sale.  See the sale page for the details.

Gracie at the 2000 NWSS.  Kinda fat and out of shape, but still cute.

(Right) Gracie in July, of 2001.  Cute as ever.
Everything she does is with dignity and grace.

Gracie is the model for the Kentucky Horse Park's 2002 catalog!  This picture is from a limited edition print called "Gray" (below), done by John S. Hockensmith, the official photographer for the Kentucky Derby and other major equine events.  John did a photo shoot at our farm in 2001, and several of the pictures are now limited edition prints.  See his work at www.bluegrassheritage.com (this site hasn't been updated in a while, but hopefully soon some of the prints of our horses will be available on there.  Until then, several of them are available on the KY Horse Park's web site, and even more are available if you order their free catalog).

See the sale page for all the details on Gracie's Embryo
Transfer foals which are currently available for sale!
